OceanGrafix Selected to Print National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Nautical Charts

Over 3,000 NGA Nautical Charts Once Again Available for International Waters

St. Paul, MN—February 23, 2011—OceanGrafix, the first and only company to offer NOAA print-on-demand (POD) nautical charts, announced today that it has been selected by NOAA as the exclusive printer of National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) charts for international waters.

The U.S. federal government had discontinued printing NGA charts in 2010, putting mariners in the position of having to order charts produced by other countries or from private sources.

“OceanGrafix has been producing NOAA’s suite of 1,100 nautical charts on a print-on-demand basis for over 10 years,” explains NOAA’s David Enabnit, technical director at the Office of Coast Survey. “For them to print NGA charts is a natural extension of their role in producing high-quality, official government charts, and mariners no doubt will benefit from their printing expertise.”

“OceanGrafix is honored to be selected by NOAA to produce additional charts,” says OceanGrafix President Ron Walz. “We are very pleased to be able to offer mariners the international NGA charts in addition to the domestic NOAA charts.”

Commercial and recreational mariners may contact chart agents directly to order NGA paper charts. Boaters also can find more details at www.oceangrafix.com.
